Goldspotted grenadier anchovy is a fish found around Indian Ocean. It inhabits estuaries and brackish water. The species reaches a recorded maximum of 20 cm.

Valenciennes listed a specimen from Mahé which lies to the south of Cannanore, India but there is no such specimen in Paris.
