The blue shiner (Cyprinella caerulea) is a species of freshwater ray-finned fish in the family Leuciscidae, the shiners, daces and minnows. It is native to the southeastern United States, where it is endemic to the Cahaba and Coosa River systems of the Mobile River Basin. This is a federally listed threatened species under the Endangered Species Act of the United States.
