Eastern Central Atlantic: known only from the holotype found in the stomach of Himantolophus groenlandicus . The validity of this species is considered doubtful by Matsui & Rosenblatt (Ref. 10887 ) who consider the species a synonym of Sagamichthys schnakenbecki .
