Luminous lanternfish is a marine fish found around Atlantic, Indian and Pacific. It inhabits deep water. Records give a maximum length of 20 cm.

Abundant in the Tungsha Islands in South China Sea (Ref. 39633 ). All the china sea regions (Ref.74511).
